Bucket Tote Sewing pattern
Easter or Halloween Bucket
Sew a bucket tote. For any season. Pattern includes ears and bow for Easter Bunny and a ghost and bat for Halloween. Comes with a PDF of step-by-step written and illustrated instruction. With additional video help for beginning sewers.
This little bucket tote sews up quickly, but has a big impact.
It requires only a 1/2 yard of canvas and 1/2 yard of lining fabric. The lining fabric you chose can give it some personality!
Your Instructor
I am Sonia Barton designer at Modest Eve Sewing Studio. I learned to sew at the age of 10 years old. My mom bought a sewing machine that she didn't know how to use. She also didn't read English, so I translated the sewing machine manual and taught her how it worked. She never sewed anything but I did. I would experiment with fabric and change my store bought clothes. In middle school I took Home Ec. and learned how to read sewing patterns. In High School I took a Fashion Design class and started designing clothes. After receiving an A.S. in Fashion Design I started a Couture sewing business and for 10 years sewed custom wedding dress and formal wear.
Family responsibilities required me to move back to my small home town. I created a few dresses but required a day job.
The urge to create can’t be suppressed for long. In 2008, my sister asked me to teach her how to sew. I had attempted to teach her once before to no avail. As I analyzed why she failed during our first time it helped me develop a better teaching method. One with simple projects that build knowledge and confidence. I now create sewing patterns with beginning sewers in mind.
This came in handy when my daughter wanted to be home schooled that same year. I was able to develop an apparel construction and fashion design home school course that was approved by the CA School Board, but most importantly helped my daughter to learn to find and develop her talents.
I now create Fashion Design courses and Sewing Patterns for women who want to discover and develop the talents of being able to Design, Sew or Alter clothing.
